The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim won 15 awards for its restaurants and chefs at the Southern California Restaurant Writers Awards Banquet. Among those honored were Sous Chef of the Year co-winners Alex Flores and Francisco Origel of Napa Rose in Disney’s Grand California Hotel & Spa. Both Napa Rose and Steakhouse 55 won Golden Bacchus Wine and Golden Sceptre awards.

The Anaheim Ducks honored the current California Big Brother of the Year, Paul Castillo, as a Community Hero during Big Brothers Big Sisters Night at Honda Center. Castillo is a financial representative with Newport Beach’s Waltos Group, part of Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co.

Several local lawyers were named Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers. They are: David Grant of Grant Genovese & Baratta LLP, Nicola Hanna of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Gary Waldron of Waldron & Bragg LLP and Dennis Ames of La Follette Johnson DeHaas Fesler & Ames.

Ron DiLuigi was given the Partnership for Action Grassroots Champion Award by the American Hospital Association and the California Hospital Asso-ciation. DiLuigi is vice president of advocacy and government affairs for Orange-based St. Joseph Health System.

Costa Mesa-based American Career College Inc. was named a School of Distinction by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. The school’s Ontario campus was among 21 schools to receive the distinction, as well as one of three in the state.

ZPizza founder and co-owner Sid Fanarof received the Pizza Industry Enterprise Award from Pizza Marketing Quarterly. The company also was named 2008 Pizza Chain of the Year. Fanarof’s chain was honored for growing restaurants and sales. He created the first ZPizza in Laguna Beach in 1986.

Don Jacobs was named to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. Jacobs is president of JZMK Partners in Irvine. He has been in-volved with the Building Industry of Orange County and HomeAid Orange County for many years.

Irvine-based LPA Inc. received two Awards of Honor and an Award of Excellence for three schools it designed in Santa Ana, Beverly Hills and Livermore. The awards were granted by The Coalition for Adequate School Housing and the California Council of the American Institute of Architects.

Conex Roofing Co. in Orange was recognized by Duro-Last Roofing Inc. as an elite contractor. This award honors contractors that demonstrate quality workmanship along with high sales. Conex is ranked as the No. 1 West Coast Duro-Last authorized contractor.

The Fullerton Chamber of Commerce recognized several businesses and individual members for its annual Business Achievement Awards. All Blue Print was named Small Business of the Year. Mulberry Street Ristorante was Medium Business of the Year. MG Disposal was Large Business of the Year. The Muckenthaler Cultural Center received the Quality of Life Award.

HostingOC.com co-owner Beverly Thomson was named Chamber Member of the Year.

Aliso Viejo-based Seabreeze Management Co. was named an Accredited Association Management Company by the American Society of Association Executives.

Isabelle Krasney was honored with a Certificate of Recognition at the 2009 Women Making a Difference Awards hosted by State Sen. Lou Correa. Krasney is corporate relations executive at the Orange County One-Stop Center in Irvine.

Irvine-based Motorcycle Industry Council was ranked first in the small-company category of California’s Best Places to Work program. The trade association represents manufacturers and distributors of motorcycles as well as several related industries. Los Angeles-based Employers Group sponsored the ranking.

William Knoke was named to the President’s Council at Waddell & Reed Inc. in San Clemente. This is the second time Knoke has earned this honor.
