The Orange County Tourism Council recognized Carianne Menna at the Service Excel-lence Awards for creating positive experiences for visitors to Orange County. Menna is office manager and concierge at the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau.

B. Braun Medical Inc. won a 2007 Medical Device Excellence Award for its Pinnacle TPN Management System. The Irvine facility of Germany’s B. Braun Melsungen AG played a big role in the development of the product. The device improves patient safety and efficiency when pharmacies compound intravenous drug formulations.

Irvine-based Prudential Overall Supply celebrated its 75th anniversary. The company provides employee uniforms for 40,000 customers, 110 of them Fortune 500 companies. Prudential has 34 industrial laundries and cleanroom garment processing and distribution centers.

Ricoh Electronics Inc., the Tustin-based U.S. arm of Japan’s Ricoh Co., was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency at the ninth annual Environmental Awards ceremony. Ricoh was selected from 160 nominations. Ricoh Electronics diverted more than 7,000 metric tons of waste from landfills last year. The company also requires its suppliers to meet the company’s green procurement policy for environmental management systems and reducing energy, paper and water usage.

Toyota Material Handling USA Inc. was ranked first in lift truck quality and value in an annual survey published in Modern Materials Handling magazine. Reed Business Information conducted the independent survey. Toyota Material Handling is an Irvine unit of Toyota Motor Corp. and offers a full line of lift trucks sold under the Toyota brand.

Mark Rylance of RS Crum Inc. in Newport Beach was accepted into the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors. Candidates for membership undergo a peer review and are required to complete several education and training requirements.

Roxburgh Agency Inc. of Costa Mesa won five Mame Awards for marketing excellence. Roxburgh Agency is a real estate marketer that operates throughout the Southwest. The Mame Awards are presented annually by the Sales and Marketing Council of Southern California.

The Orange County Human Relations Commission awarded schools, community members and community-policing projects with its 36th Human Relations Awards. Those receiving awards were: Garden Grove Police Department, Anaheim police officer Omar Adham and Shakeel Syed, executive director of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California. The awards recognize departments or officers who build relationships with the communities they serve. Anaheim, Los Amigos and Trabuco Hills High School students received awards for promoting safe campuses.

The National Business Travel Association presented its 2007 Alan Fredericks Business Travel Journalism Award to Roger Yu. Yu is a business travel reporter for USA Today and a former Orange County Business Journal reporter. He was honored for his coverage of a wide variety of industry topics of interest to business travelers and industry professionals.

The Orange County Bar Association honored Donna H. Fouste with the Harmon G. Scoville Award. The award is presented annually to honor a member whose career exemplifies the highest standards of the legal profession. Fouste has been executive director of the local Bar Association since 1992 and will retire in June. She is a member of the National Association of Bar Executives and holds a Lifetime Teaching Credential for California Community Colleges.

California Pools Inc. awarded its South OC office in Rancho Santa Margarita with two Gold Medal Pool Awards at its annual awards banquet. The office was recognized for the “natural pool” and “small geometric” categories. Kerry Kinkade is general manager of the South OC office.
