Intersil Corp., an Irvine developer of wireless networking chips, late last month said it had signed a pact with Hong Kong-based Legend Holdings Ltd., China’s largest computer maker.
The agreement calls for “joint research and development” of wireless network products using Intersil’s technology, the company said.
Legend Vice President He Zhiqiang said his company set up the agreement with Intersil to introduce new wireless technology into the Chinese market for notebook computers, personal digital assistants and other handheld devices.
Legend in 2000 grabbed a 39% market share of China’s consumer PC market last year.
