Ingram Micro Inc.’s former president and chief operating officer Kevin Murai has landed at Synnex Corp., a Fremont-based service provider to electronics makers, software publishers and resellers.
Murai left Ingram Micro at the end of 2007 to care for his extended family in Toronto.
In 2005, Murai was in the running for Ingram Micro’s top job, which ended up going to current Chief Executive Gregory Spierkel.
Murai served as co-president with Spierkel for a year.
Ingram Micro is the largest distributor of technology products and Orange County’s largest company by yearly sales.
At Synnex, Murai was appointed co-chief executive with Bob Huang, the company’s current president and chief executive.
Huang is expected to retire in November. At that time, Huang is expected to be named chairman and Murai will become the sole chief executive.
