Horizon Medical Outsourcing Inc., a Santa Ana-based contract device manufacturer, recently signed a lease for new industrial space on Von Karman Avenue in Irvine.
Chief Executive William Goolsbee said Horizon will use the 21,614 square feet of space for general warehousing functions, including final product distribution. The Von Karman lease is an interim measure, pending Horizon’s “next big expansion,” according to Goolsbee.
“We would expect in or around January 2002, we’ll be going into a substantial new facility,” Goolsbee said. He did not offer details about Horizon’s future building.
Horizon, founded 13 years ago, employs more than 200 people. The privately held company’s services range from designing medical device prototypes to full-scale production. Half of Horizon’s business comes from top industry names, with a third from mid-size companies and another third from startup companies.
Earlier this year, Horizon consolidated its operations into a 60,000-square-foot facility on Carnegie Avenue.
