Britain’s GUS PLC said Wednesday at its annual meeting that it was on track to spin off its Costa Mesa-based Experian Group unit in October.
GUS said that the company planned to sent a letter to shareholders calling for a meeting to vote on the spinoff.
The company also plans to spin off its Argos Retail Group, which runs the Homebase chain of home improvement stores in Britain and general merchandiser Argos.
In April GUS detailed plans to spin off Experian this year or by early 2007.
As part of that shift, Don Robert, chief executive of Experian, is set to move from Orange County to London, where an independent Experian is set to be based.
Experian is expected to trade on the London Stock Exchange.
