The Stomp Out Breast Cancer wine tasting and grape stomping contest raised $90,000 for the Be Aware Foundation. The nonprofit promotes community education programs to ensure early breast cancer detection. Nineteen California vintners offered select wines samples for 450 guests. Event co-chair Tamera Richard, of Rich and Richard Event Management LLC, donated design services for decorations.

The Orange County Register Camp-ership Fund generated $90,264 during its 2008 campaign. Donations came from Orange County residents and newspaper employees. The program provides sponsorships for kids to attend summer camps.

Garden Grove-based Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County raised $69,000 for its programs at its Endless Summer, Endless Smiles fundraiser. The money will fund programs that help improve pediatric oral health services for local kids. The surf-themed event was geared toward youth, offering Captain Carl’s mobile tide pool, face painting and a tooth fairy learning center.

Children’s Hospital of Orange County received $60,000 from the OC Auto Show’s First Look for Charity event. Some 800 attendees received a sneak peek at the show’s concept, exotic and green cars from top auto manufacturers. The Orange County Auto-mobile Dealers Association underwrote the event.

Inter IKEA Systems BV donated $42,000 worth of home furnishings to the Habitat for Humanity OC ReStore Discount Home Improvement Center in Garden Grove. The furniture was first used for the Southern California Home and Garden Show. Proceeds from the furniture sale will fund construction of more affordable homes.

Anaheim Ducks players helped raise $40,000 at the Orange County Shoot for the Cure event. Donations went to the fight against cancer. During the event, professional players taught kids hockey basics. The Ducks raised an additional $35,000 at their annual Meet the Team Wine Tasting Event, where players, coaches and management also mingled with fans. The money will be donated to the Anaheim Ducks Foundation and Register Charities.
