Brea-based G.I Trucking has been acquired by Estes Express Lines of Richmond, Va., the companies said Friday.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Before Friday’s deal, Estes owned a stake of G.I. along with senior managers. They bought out the company in 2001 from Arkansas Best Corp.
G.I. Trucking President Bill Reid is set to serve as president of G.I./Estes West.
The company’s executives, sales and operations workers are expected to join Estes Express Lines ownership.
Earlier this year, G.I. Trucking Co. spent $24 million to upgrade its fleet of trucks.
G.I., which hauls products for home improvement stores and other retailers, had revenue of $215 million last year, according to Reid.
