France’s Look Cycle International, a maker of bicycling equipment, could bid for Huntington Beach-based Quiksilver Inc.’s struggling Rossignol skis business, according to a report.
Dominique Bergin, Look’s chief executive, told France’s Le Figaro newspaper that he’s looking at Rossignol, according to a Reuters report.
Quiksilver, which makes clothes inspired by surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding, bought Rossignol three years ago for $560 million.
Since then, Rossignol, a maker of skis, snowboards and related gear, has been a drag on Quiksilver.
Earlier this year, Quiksilver hired JPMorgan Chase & Co. to handle a possible sale of Rossignol.
Look could work with an investment fund to bid on Rossignol next month, according to Le Figaro.
