The United Arab Emirates has awarded Aliso Viejo-based Fluor Corp. a $1 billion contract to build the first stage of a gas complex expansion.
The project includes installing two sulfur recovery units, an acid gas enrichment unit and upgrading existing control systems.
The project is scheduled for completion within 32 months.
The work is part of an effort by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries, a unit of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., to boost gas production in the United Arab Emirates.
