Santa Ana-based First American Corp. said Monday it bought Chicago’s Urban Appraisal Inc.
Terms weren’t disclosed.
Urban provides appraisals of apartment buildings, with a focus on affordable housing units. The company’s founder, William Farina, is set to join First American as vice president of First American’s Commercial Real Estate Services unit overseeing the Chicago office.
First American’s Commercial Real Estate Services division provides appraisals, collateral valuations, real and personal property tax consulting, tax department outsourcing and commercial flood and environmental risk assessments.
Shares of First American were off slightly to $44 on Monday.
