The median price for a detached Orange County home rose to $721,190 in February, a 3% increase from January and up 9% from a year earlier, the California Association of Realtors said Thursday.
The pace of OC home sales continues to slow. Sales of single-family, detached homes in the county fell 9% in February from January. They were off 27% from a year earlier.
The association excludes condominiums from its figures.
The numbers from the association are similar to those from DataQuick Information Systems.
Including condos, the median price of a home sold in OC was $617,000 in February, up 11% from a year earlier, according to La Jolla-based market tracker DataQuick, a unit of Canada’s MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates.
The statewide February median price of a California home was $535,470, a 3% drop from January, but up 14% from a year ago, the California Association of Realtors reported.
Statewide home sales increased 3% from January, but fell 16% from a year ago.
Newport Beach held the title for the city with the highest median home prices in California last month, at $1.3 million. Other OC cities among the 10 most expensive in the state included San Clemente at $920,000, Dana Point at $880,000 and San Juan Capistrano at $870,000.
