In the second sentence of his Aug. 30 cover story on office rents, Murray Coleman states that Orange County has “no traditional downtown.”
Have the guy visit Santa Ana. I’ll give him a tour. We consider ourselves one of the few downtowns in Orange County (also, Orange and Fullerton).
He had to have been born in a suburb and doesn’t know what a downtown is!

Santa Ana
Editor’s note: Coleman points to Olympia, Wash., where he was born, and Pittsburgh, Pa., where he has worked, as places with real downtowns. He respectfully omits Santa Ana — where he lives, by the way.
