The median price for a detached Orange County home was $717,320 in March, down 0.5% from February, but up 7.5% from a year earlier, the California Association of Realtors said on Tuesday.
The pace of OC home sales continued to slow. Sales of detached homes in the county were off 28% from a year earlier. Sales did increase 64% in March from the traditionally slow month of February.
The 28% drop in annual OC sales in March was the largest decline of any county in California. The association excludes condominiums from its figures.
Including condos, the median price of a home sold in OC was $623,000 in March, up 10% from a year earlier, according to La Jolla-based market tracker DataQuick, a unit of Canada’s MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates.
The statewide March median price of a detached California home was $561,350, a 5% increase from February and a 13% jump from a year ago, the California Association of Realtors reported.
Statewide home sales increased 5% from February, but fell 15% from a year ago.
Laguna Beach had California’s highest median home price in March, at $1.8 million. Newport Beach, which held the state title in February, came in at $1.5 million in March.
