Collectors Universe Inc. said Friday it wrapped up its buy of parts of CoinFacts.com Inc.
Collectors Universe, which values and authenticates coins, trading cards and other collectibles, said it paid $500,000 to buy the Coinfacts name, Web site and proprietary information about coins held by the company.
The CoinFacts.com Web site carries information about each date and mintmark combination for U.S. coins minted prior to the formation of the U.S., early coins such as the Liberty Cap Half Cent of 1794 and more modern coins.
Shares of Collectors Universe were down 2% to $15.6 on Friday.
