Santa Ana circuit board maker TTM Technologies Inc. said Thursday it plans to close an Oregon factory it acquired in October’s buy of Tyco International Ltd.’s printed circuit board business.
Production at the underperforming factory will be shifted to other plants in Redmond, Wash., and Logan, Utah, TTM said.
TTM said it plans to pay about $2.6 million in severance in the first quarter to the 300 employees of the Dallas, Ore., plant. The company plans to sell some of the Oregon equipment and property.
“Prior to closing our acquisition of the Tyco Printed Circuit Group business, we began assessing the need to close certain facilities,” TTM Chief Executive Kent Alder said. “Today’s actions are a result of these initial assessments.”
TTM doesn’t plan to close any additional plants, he said.
The company, which makes circuit boards for computers, networking gear, medical devices and aerospace, paid $226 million for the Tyco unit.
