Biolase Technology Inc., a San Clemente dental-surgical technology company, last week announced the signing of a two-year distribution agreement with Munich, Germany-based Industrie-Beratungs and Communication GmbH.
The contract calls for $5.4 million in revenue for Biolase over the two years, with $2.0 million expected during the first year.
IBC will distribute Biolase dental lasers in Germany, including the Waterlase hard and soft tissue surgical cutting system. Waterlase is one of only two devices approved by the Food and Drug Administration for cutting through hard tissue in dentistry, according to Biolase marketing director Larry Lenon.
“IBC is an ideal partner for Biolase, given their 15-year track record in the dental and medical laser industries, included sales of several hundred CO2 lasers for one manufacturer,” said Biolase president and CEO Jeffrey Jones.
“We now have leading clinicians in most major geographical areas of the world who have strong convictions about the patient and clinical benefits of our systems,” said Jones.
Biolase develops advanced dental, cosmetic, aesthetic and surgical products, advanced laser and non-laser products for professional and home consumer markets.
