Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim owner Arte Moreno has paid $12 .1 million for a home in Corona del Mar.
Moreno, who’s main home is in Phoenix, bought a home on Bayside Place, according to county records. He bought the home from Michael J. Ruffatto, founder of Colorado-based power plant owner North American Power Group Ltd.
Up to now, Moreno has stayed at local hotels while in Orange County. He also has a home in La Jolla.
In 2006, Moreno told the Business Journal he and his wife were looking for a home in Newport Beach or Laguna Beach, but were in no rush.
Moreno bought the Angels from Walt Disney Co. for $184 million in 2003.
He subsequently changed its name to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to appeal to more fans. The city of Anaheim sued Moreno over the name change but lost its appeals in February.
