Core U.S. prices rose 0.2% in April, according to a government report on Friday that did little to clear up the question of whether the Federal Reserve would raise interest rates in June, Reuters reported.
The rise in the Fed’s favorite inflation gauge, which strips out volatile food and energy prices, matched expectations on Wall Street but came close to being rounded up to a 0.3% increase that would have set off alarm bells.
