Apria Healthcare Group Inc., a Lake Forest home healthcare provider, said Tuesday that its second-quarter profit was up 13% from a year earlier on revenue gains, beating Wall Street expectations.
Apria earned $20.8 million in the quarter, versus $18.5 million a year earlier.
Analysts expected Apria to make $19.6 million on revenue of $393.3 million in the quarter.
Revenue for the quarter was up 5% to $394 million. The bulk of the sales came from breathing treatments for patients in their homes, which was up 5% to $269.4 million.
Apria said that infusion therapy and home medical equipment revenue also rose.
Apria also reaffirmed its 2007 guidance. The company said it expects to make $77.7 million to $79.4 million on revenue of $1.58 billion to $1.6 billion.
