Defense technology company Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa has acquired Boston-based startup Dive Technologies, a maker of autonomous underwater vehicles. Financial details were not released.
This acquisition expands Anduril’s lineup of autonomous systems, extends its unmanned capabilities to the undersea domain in addition to land and air, and accelerates the company’s strategic growth.
Dive Technologies enables access to the greatest depths of the world’s oceans with reliable, flexible undersea vehicles that can be used for mine countermeasures and anti-submarine warfare among other functions, according to the company.
“The Dive Technologies team brings unparalleled, deep domain expertise under the sea as well as a shared commitment to transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology,” said Anduril co-founder and CEO Brian Schimpf in a statement today.
The purchase of Dive is Anduril’s third acquisition in less than a year.Â
