AMDL Inc., a Tustin developer and marketer of tests for the early detection of cancer, last week announced it had granted distribution rights in the United Kingdom for its cancer diagnostic kit to Derby, England-based UK Scientific Ltd.
The announcement followed the U.K. government’s Medical Devices Agency clearances to both UK Scientific and Sunscreen Diagnostics to import the product from AMDL.
“Both companies have placed initial orders for test kits and will make the product available within the next several weeks,” said AMDL president and CEO Gary Dreher.
AMDL is the inventor and developer of the DR-70 cancer blood test, which can detect the presence in humans of up to 13 types of cancer simultaneously. Clinical trials for the product have been conducted in China, Canada, Taiwan and Turkey.
