Company to Watch: Wienerschnitzel

While some companies fire away on the digital, loyalty and food innovation front, others are looking at the bigger picture to revive older brands.

Juice It Up CEO and President Chris Braun recently told the Business Journal that mobile ordering, a revamped website and store remodels are in play for next year as part of the juice and smoothie chain’s refresh under new ownership. The idea being all the upgrades sets the Irvine-based business up nicely for more store openings in 2020.

Among the heritage concepts with the biggest revival tasks is Galardi Group Inc.’s Wienerschnitzel of Irvine. OC’s No. 12 restaurant chain by sales tapped Huntington Beach ad agency Innocean USA to help it “change the perception of the hot dog,” the company said in September.

The move is no doubt being driven by many customers’ focus on healthy, sustainable fare. Wienerschnitzel has been mum on the specifics, but a new campaign is slated for launch in the spring, and well worth watching for the impact it makes.
