NextGen Buys in Rural Telehealth

Irvine-based NextGen Healthcare (Nasdaq: NXGN); bought Denver-based Otto Health, which provides telehealth services to chronic condition patients.

The aim is access to lower-cost healthcare, including for patients in rural areas. NextGen plans to integrate it with its recently acquired Medfusion patient platform, which facilitates doctor-patient interaction, payments, and care.

NextGen provides software to medical offices; it traded recently at a $964 million market cap.
