Venus Textiles moves from Huntington Beach to Foothill Ranch

Venus Textiles Inc., a maker of table linens, cotton towels and chef uniforms, has moved its headquarters from Huntington Beach to Foothill Ranch.

The company, which has 110 OC employees, recently leased the new 110,000-square-foot facility to handle its growing wholesale business for the restaurant and healthcare industry. The 11-year deal was valued at $8.5 million.

The OC facility is used to cut and sew products including hospital patient gowns and bedsheets for customers such as American Linen in Anaheim, Mission Linen & Uniform Services in Anaheim and Braun Linen Service Inc. in Paramount.

The business is owned and operated by four brothers of Indian descent. Founders Kirit Patel and Raj Patel, who were born and raised in Kenya, started the company in 1972. Later, brothers Shashi Patel and Suresh Patel moved here from Kenya to join the company.

Venus Textiles also has 450 employees in its 60,000-square-foot Mexican manufacturing plant, where it makes chefs’ uniforms. The company’s cotton towels are manufactured on a contract basis in India.
