Beauty Company Taps Actress For Brand Campaign

Beauty products distributor Pacific World Corp. in Aliso Viejo selected actress Gabrielle Union to be the face of its SensatioNail at-home gel polish brand.

Union will be featured in the brand’s upcoming advertising campaign and will participate in various marketing activities during the multiyear agreement, such as curating seasonal color collections, advising on product and color launches, and serving as a celebrity ambassador for the brand.

Union starred in “Bring it On” with Kirsten Dunst and “Bad Boys II” with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, and is married to Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade Jr.

“Gabrielle embodies the stylish and savvy consumer we hope to reach, and her work as a creative and inspiring woman complements our growing brand,” Monica Maloney, vice president of marketing for SensatioNail, said in a statement. “Gabrielle’s charisma and enthusiasm makes her the perfect partner to bring SensatioNail to new levels of awareness and help continue to grow consumer demand and affinity.”

New York-based Roberts+Langer DDB developed the campaign, which includes TV commercials that will air this month.

SensatioNail is sold at drug and mass retailers, such as Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid.

They Wrote the Book

Oakley Inc. published “Oakley,” a limited-edition book celebrating the brand’s upcoming 40-year anniversary. The 220-page coffee table book features its progression from the early years with “original mad scientist Jim Jannard” to its maturing into “one of the leading product design and sport performance brands in the world.” It includes early advertisements, photos of athlete ambassadors, and product design sketches.

“Oakley is not a sunglass company or a motorcycle grip manufacturer, a watchmaker or a fashion apparel brand,” Chief Executive Colin Baden said in a statement. “No matter what the product category, Oakley is only about one thing: inventions wrapped in art. Our ambitious story, where technological innovations meet human performance is eloquently captured in ‘Oakley.’ And now we’re working on the next chapter of brave design pieces and meaningful technologies as we invent for the future.”

Banking on Info

The “Entrepreneur Bank Search” is a microsite hosted on the monthly magazine’s website.

“Our mission is to provide valuable data and tools to help small-business owners as they grow and manage all facets of their companies,” Entrepreneur.com Editorial Director Ray Hennessey said in a news release. “Entrepreneur Bank Search provides a new level of lending transparency to assist entrepreneurs in the first steps of the loan acquisition process.”
