On Sept. 9, the OC Business Journal presented its 19th annual Excellence in Entrepreneurship Awards.
The awards celebrate individuals nominated for their exemplary “American entrepreneurial spirit” and drive displayed in their business ventures and accomplishments.
Past award winners include: Joe Kiani in 2006, a year before monitoring device maker Masimo Corp. went public and which now sports a $12 billion market cap; and more recently, Palmer Luckey in 2019, whose defense technology firm Anduril Industries Inc. recently reached a valuation of nearly $2 billion.
Selected from a list of 95 nominees, this year’s five honorees are:
• Steve Jones of Allied Universal, a private security services and technology firm in Santa Ana.
• Gary Moore of American Technologies Inc., an Anaheim-based contractor that offers restoration and reconstruction services.
• Joel Stensby of KPRS Construction Services, a Brea-based construction firm that builds industrial, office and retail projects.
• Alan Fuerstman of Montage International, an Irvine-based hospitality management company that oversees a collection of hotels, resorts and residences.
