San Clemente-based rubber products maker IRP Group Holdings recently agreed to combine with Garden Grove-based ProPlas Technologies on undisclosed terms.
IRP’s units include IRP Medical, which also is in San Clemente and is a custom contract manufacturer that makes liquid silicone, gum silicone and organic molded components, assembly and packaging for the healthcare, aerospace and commercial markets. It operates out of 40,000 square feet.
ProPlas makes medical and dental device components at a 42,000-square-foot facility with 28 injection molding machines, assembly, packaging and in-house mold-making capabilities.
IRP said in a statement that the combination “would essentially double our company’s size [and] provide more resources to ProPlas Technologies customers.”
The combined company will have about 145 workers in Orange County and 200 companywide. IRP also has a facility in Ontario that makes rubber products for the power, energy, oil and gas industries, and rubber-coated rollers, wheels and shafts.
