Red Digital Begins Slow Reopening

Red Digital Cinema Camera Co. has started the slow process of reopening operations.

The Irvine-based maker of professional digital still and motion cameras updated customers on the various parts of the business in light of the pandemic, including the reopening of its headquarters for a portion of its workforce.

Sales and support services handle orders coming through the website and retail partners. Workers from the department who can work from home, will remain there for now.

The company said it expects to begin shipping cameras and parts from its Irvine facility at the end of this week, with returns and repairs slated to start in roughly two weeks.

The company’s Red Studios in Hollywood and European outpost are still closed, with its offices in China only partially open.
