Newport Beach Agricultural Products Company Signs Monsanto Deal

Newport Beach-based American Vanguard Corp. said Thursday that a subsidiary signed a deal with Monsanto Co. to market an herbicide.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal calls for American Vanguard subsidiary Amvac Chemical Corp. to market Impact, a corn herbicide, as part of Monsanto’s Roundup Ready Plus weed control product line.

American Vanguard, which is publicly traded with a market value of about $330 million, is a diversified specialty and agricultural products company that makes products for protecting and managing crops, managing turf and ornamental plants and for public and animal health.
