Santa Ana-based Filter Concepts Inc. has been acquired by Astrodyne Corp. on undisclosed terms.
Filter Concepts makes electromagnetic interference filters used in products ranging from medical and telecommunications equipment to electronic controls in military vehicles. The company, which has about 30 employees, is expected to relocate and combine operations with Radius Power Inc., a Yorba Linda-based company that Astrodyne bought last year.
Lester Edelberg, who’s been president of Filter Concepts since 1995, plans to leave the company.
Massachusetts-based Astrodyne makes and distributes AC/DC power supplies and
converters. Its products are used in the medical, aerospace and defense, and industrial markets.
The latest deal has helped the company become “one of the largest … [electromagnetic interference] filter providers” globally, according to Chief Executive Peter Kaczmarek.
Astrodyne and Filter Concepts are privately held, and neither discloses sales data.
Astrodyne is backed by Boston-based Audax Private Equity.
Audax invests in companies that have $50 million to $200 million in market value, including debt.
