A Buena Park maker of laundry detergent, fabric softener, bleach and other chemicals plans to spend $40 million to expand operations in Arkansas.
Awesome Products Inc. plans to add about 240 jobs at an expanded plant as well as a new one across the state line from Memphis, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette newspaper.
The company makes discount cleaning products that are sold at stores such as Dollar Tree, Family Dollar and Dollar General.
Awesome Products has had a plant in West Memphis, Ark., since 2004. The company is getting about $1.5 million in state and local incentives for the expansion.
“We are fortunate to have the resources in place here in Arkansas in which to continue to grow our business,” said L.D. Hardas, owner and president of Awesome Products.
The company also has manufacturing or distribution operations in New Jersey and Buena Park.
