Accessories Maker Targus to Acquire Sena

Anaheim-based Targus Inc. has acquired smaller competitor Sena Cases in Irvine.

Terms of the deal announced Tuesday were not disclosed.

The buy adds to Targus’ luxury offerings for iPhones, iPads and other consumer electronics.

Targus is one of the world’s largest accessory makers in the world with more than $500 million in annual sales. The company makes lap top bags, backpacks and other accessories for computers and other electronics.

Sena’s leather cases—individually hand-crafted from calfskin Napa leather from Italy, Turkey and South Korea—are made for cell phones, tablets, MP3 players and laptops.

Sena was No. 11 on this year’s Business Journal list of fastest-growing private companies, with sales up 369% to $18.1 million for the 12 months through June, compared to two years earlier.
