ARCHITECTURE

H. Tony Rahimian was appointed senior vice president at CH2M Hill in Santa Ana. Rahimian has been with the company for five years and was alternative project delivery director before the promotion.

Marc Haslinger joined Huitt-Zollars as vice president of land development. Haslinger, who was senior project manager at Tetra Tech in Irvine before joining Huitt-Zollars, will work in the Tustin office.

RBF Consulting, Irvine, hired Donald Putnam as a landscape architect in the planning department.

KTGY Group Inc., Irvine, hired Robert Williams as principal. Previously Williams was principal of Brion Jeannette and Associates.


EDUCATION

Betty Chavis, chair and professor of accounting at Cal State Fullerton, began a one-year term in Washington, D.C., as a Securities and Exchange Commission academic accounting fellow. Chavis will be a research resource for the commission staff, assigned to ongoing projects in the division of corporate finance.


HEALTHCARE

Marcia Manker was promoted to chief executive officer of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. Manker had been chief operations officer at the center for five years.


LAW

Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald hired W. Jeffrey Burch as a partner. Burch has been with the firm as an associate since 1997 and is based out of the company’s Irvine office.


MANUFACTURING

Amvac Chemical Corp., Newport Beach, hired Darryl Brock as a regulatory manager. Brock previously managed the Greensweep product line and Roundup products for Monsanto Co.

Motorvac Technologies, Santa Ana, hired Mark Hallsman as vice president of marketing and business development. Hallsman was vice president of PIA Merchandising Co. before joining Motorvac.

IMC Networks, Foothill Ranch, appointed Mort Nistanaki vice president of engineering. Before joining IMC, Nistanaki was vice president of engineering for MircroNet, a subsidiary of Ampex Corp.


MARKETING

Vanessa Besack was named senior account executive at Brower, Miller & Cole in Newport Beach.

SMS Inc., Irvine, hired Jacqueline Beurskens Burnett as account supervisor. Burnett spent eight years with PacifiCare/Secure Horizons developing sales lead generation programs and inventory management systems before joining SMS. The company also hired Lyndi Alongi as business development executive.


NONPROFITS

The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Orange County named Grant Dunning to its board. Dunning is president and CEO of the Irvine-based OCT Group.

Norman Metcalfe, former vice chairman and chief financial officer at The Irvine Company, joined the Aquarium of the Pacific’s board.


REAL ESTATE

Clarence Clemons was named vice president of sales for Beazer Homes’ Southern California division. Prior to his promotion, Clemons was sales consultant and director of sales for seven years. Beazer also named Andrea Kanel vice president of escrow and closings. The company hired Cynthia Gonzalez as escrow coordinator and Carlos Garcia as development manager. Tony Del Grippo was named planning manager. Also Dan Moore was named senior vice president of sales and Mohammad Kashani vice president of development.

Westar Associates, Costa Mesa, promoted Jud Dutrisac to vice president of sales and leasing. Dutrisac began his career with Grubb & Ellis in 1989 and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.


TECHNOLOGY

Shunsuke Nakanishi was named president of Ricoh Electronics Inc. in Tustin. Nakanishi previously was division manager in the production business group at Ricoh Co. in Japan.

Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Irvine, hired Rod Keller as executive vice president of its computer systems group.

Myrient, Aliso Viejo, appointed Jim Ferguson executive vice president of worldwide sales. Ferguson spent five years at GlobalCrossing before joining Myrient.
