BIOTECHNOLOGY

Canterbury Consulting, Newport Beach, hired R.D. Bruce as CFO. Bruce comes to the firm from SRS Technology, where he was a director of contracts, human resources and administration.


CONSTRUCTION

A 26-year industry veteran, Lary T. Atherton, was named project manager for Pepper Construction, Irvine. Atherton is working on the design and construction of a $70-million automated distribution center in the Inland Empire.


ENGINEERING

Lawrence N. Perko was appointed manager of the design-build program for Kleinfelder, Irvine. The 27-year industry veteran will focus on the creation of teams to acquire design-build projects throughout the nation. Perko will continue in his role as infrastructure program manager.


GOVERNMENT

Rep. Christopher Cox added three employees to his staff: Kevin Logan, legislative assistant; Daniel Schwartz, staff assistant; and Rebekah Eekhoff, executive assistant.


INSURANCE

Pacific Life Insurance Co., Newport Beach, announced the following promotions: Khanh T. Tran, executive vice president and CFO; Robert C. Hsu, senior vice president of administration in the annuities division; and Robert A. Bruno, vice president, national sales manager in the annuities division.


LAW

The law firm of Don D. Sessions, Mission Viejo, added Mark J. Keough to its staff. Previously, Keough was director of human resources at Boeing Military Aircraft.


MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

Nancy L. Koprowski joined Maples Communications Inc., Irvine, as account manager. The 16-year public relations veteran comes to the firm from Hilary Kaye Associates.


NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

The Girl Scout Council of OC, Costa Mesa, elected the following board members: Christine Shingleton, president; Robyn Sottile, first vice president; Mary Hornbuckle, second vice president; Pauline Wong, secretary; and Linda Goodrich, treasurer.


REAL ESTATE

Charles Dunn Real Estate Services Inc. promoted Gail Robinson to regional vice president in OC. Prior to joining the firm, Robinson was with Cushman & Wakefield.

Professional Community Management Inc., Lake Forest, promoted four employees: Dana Davidson, director of customer service; Lisa Engelhardt, senior manager II; Shelly Johnson, director of training; Kelly Rosenau, benefits manager. In addition, the firm hired Chrissy Gruninger and Scott Mourer as community association managers.

Grubb & Ellis named Garrett Sholer associate vice president of the investment group in the Newport Beach office.

Jim Andersen was promoted to senior vice president and CEO for the Southern California residential division of Legacy Partners Residential. Andersen was previously CEO of Bay Apartment Communities in San Jose.

Transwestern Commercial Services added David Girty as vice president of its leasing team in Irvine.

Thomas Arai was named managing director of the PM Realty Advisor portfolio at Insignia/ESG. Arai will oversee the operations of a 2.5 million square foot portfolio.

Aliso Viejo-based Shea Properties named W. William Gaboury to the board of directors for the National Multi Housing Council. Gaboury is the principal executive officer for Shea Properties since 1984.

Stewart Title of California hired Manny Herrera as vice president, sales manager in Irvine.

Ted Crisell joined Voit Commercial Brokerage in Irvine as senior vice president. Crisell headed his own development, brokerage, management and construction companies before joining Voit.

Gail Robinson was promoted to regional vice president of Charles Dunn Real Estate Service in Orange County.

RE/MAX Real Estate Services appointed Steve Mathis manager of the Newport Beach office.

Seabreeze Management Co. hired Ron Conner as account executive for its Aliso Viejo office. Conner served 22 years in the U.S. Army before entering the property management industry.

Mavis Lee was hired as accounting manager for Coreland Carlson in Tustin. Lee was previously an accounting manager at CB Richard Ellis in Newport Beach.

Trimark Pacific named Kirk Chittick director of sales and marketing for the Irvine firm. Chittick will oversee advertising, sales training and sales management throughout Southern California.

The One Ford Road Community Association hired Christy Meier as community concierge and activities coordinator. Meier will be responsible for scheduling recreation activities and event planning.


RETAIL

Anne-Marie Otey was appointed publicity manager for El Portal in Fountain Valley. Otey was previously founding editor of FashionDish.com and staff reporter at People magazine.

Lennox Hearth Products of Fullerton hired Bruce Schiller as vice president of operations. Schiller was vice president of operations for York International before joining Lennox.

Five Crowns Restaurant, Corona del Mar, named Chris Szechenyi general manager. Szechenyi was formerly general manager of Tam O’Shantar Inn in Glendale.

Robert Tarlton was appointed community affairs manager for the Premier Automotive Group North American headquarters in Irvine.


TECHNOLOGY

Shugart Technology Inc., Irvine, hired Kenneth Martini as vice president of worldwide sales.

Michael H. Vishny joined U.S. Robotics’ Irvine office as vice president and chief human resources officer.

Escrow.com, Santa Ana, named Tom Fedro vice president of sales and business development. In addition, the firm appointed Samir Patel director of business development.

Newport Corp. promoted William Abbott to vice president of finance and treasurer and Delia Van Kampen to corporate controller. Before joining Newport, Abbott was vice president and corporate controller for Sunclipse Inc.

SRS Labs promoted Alan Kraemer to executive vice president of technology and business development. And Sarah Yang was promoted to director of engineering.

Matt Dean was appointed director of marketing for U.S. Robotics in Irvine. Before joining the company, Dean was the head of marketing for Gateway Computer’s business-to-business division. The company also named Joseph Chang product manager. Chang was previously product manager for The Patent & License Exchange Inc.

Lantronix Inc. appointed Debbie Ures vice president of worldwide sales. Ures was previously vice president of sales for the Americas with International Rectifier.

Erogo Inc., Tustin, hired Linwood Little as vice president of client development. Little has 18 years of experience marketing and selling computer software products.

FieldCentrix named Michael Roppolo vice president of sales. Roppolo previously worked for EggSystems.com.
