Oil Slips on Supply Swell

Oil prices slipped on Wednesday after a U.S. government report showed a surprisingly large increase in the nation’s crude stockpiles last week to the highest in nearly three years. U.S. light crude on the New York Mercantile Exchange settled down 24 cents at $53.99 a barrel, more than $3.50 below the all-time peak hit March 17.
