Deloitte & Touche LLP has tapped Rick Rayson to head its Orange County operation.
Rayson, who led the accounting firm’s 230-employee Phoenix office for seven years, took over Deloitte’s OC reins at the beginning of June. Rayson is managing partner.
Rayson took over from Bob Grant, who recently left Deloitte to open his own tax practice.
“I agreed to take the new position because OC is a bigger marketplace and more opportunities than Phoenix and we have a larger practice here,” Rayson said. “Phoenix is a great place but I’m looking forward to Orange County.”
The OC office counts some 700 staff.
Rayson plans to split his time between the Phoenix and OC offices until August. He has been with Deloitte for more than 25 years.
