EARNINGS

Ingram Micro Inc., Santa Ana, reported earnings of $75 million on sales of $7.8 billion for its fourth quarter ended Jan 1, compared with earnings of $73 million on sales of $6.2 billion for the same quarter the previous year. For the year, the company posted earnings of $183.4 million on revenue of $28.0 billion, compared with earnings of $245.1 million on revenue of $22.0 billion the year before.

Fluor Corp., Aliso Viejo, posted earnings of $52 million on revenue of $3.00 billion in the fiscal first quarter ended Jan. 31, compared with earnings of $51 million on revenue of $3.38 billion in the prior first quarter (see story on page 1).

First American Financial Corp., Santa Ana, reported a net loss of $2.2 million on revenue of $700.4 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with earnings of $53.9 million on revenue of $814.2 million the prior fourth quarter. For the year, the company reported earnings of $33.0 million (including a $55.6 million negative effect of a change in accounting) on revenue of $2.99 billion, compared with earnings of $201.5 million on revenue of $2.94 billion in 1998.

Fidelity National Financial Inc., Irvine, reported earnings of $8.7 million on revenue of $308.3 million in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with earnings of $29.4 million on revenue of $375.4 million for the fourth quarter of 1998. Earnings for the year were $71.1 million on revenue of $1.35 billion, compared with earnings of $102.6 million on revenue of $1.29 billion for 1998.

Apria Healthcare Group Inc., Costa Mesa, reported earnings of $151.9 million on revenue of $242.3 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with earnings of $2.3 million on revenue of $223.3 million in the prior fourth quarter. For the year, the company reported earnings of $204.1 million on revenue of $940.0 million, compared with a net loss of $208 million on revenue of $933.8 million in 1998.

InSight Health Services Corp., Newport Beach, reported earnings of $2.6 million on revenue of $92.3 million for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with earnings of $3.7 million on revenue of $76.8 million in the prior-year quarter. For the six-month period, the company reported earnings of $1.3 million on revenue of $46.1 million, compared with earnings of $2.0 million on revenue of $38.9 million in the prior-year period.

Hines Horticulture, Irvine, reported a net loss of $3.2 million on revenue of $44.8 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a net loss of $2.5 million on revenue of $34.5 million in the prior-year period. For the year, the company reported earnings of $15.4 million on revenue of $277.7 million, compared with earnings of $6.1 million (after an extraordinary charge of $4.4 million) on revenue of $235 million in 1998.

Datum Inc., Irvine reported a net loss of $561,000 on sales of $25.8 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with earnings of $68,000 on sales of $23.7 million prior fourth quarter. For the year, the company reported a loss of $1.6 million on sales of $100.2 million, compared with a loss of $1.5 million on sales of $101.2 million in 1998.
