UCI Medical Center in Orange and Newport Beach’s Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian made a list of best hospitals published by U.S. News and World Report. UCI, a teaching hospital, made the list for the 12th consecutive year.
The magazine ranks hospitals in 16 specialties ranging from cancer to urology.
UCI Medical Center was 35th out of 50 hospitals for geriatric care.
Hoag ranked 43rd for orthopedic care. Orthopedics has been a major focus of Hoag’s Irvine campus, and it has dedicated 70 hospital beds specifically for that form of medicine.
