United Way has collected $1 million for its coronavirus work.
Giving to the nonprofit’s Pandemic Relief Fund helps low-income individuals, families at imminent risk of homelessness and current homeless populations.
Relief fund donors include OC residents, and corporate and foundation giving from Edwards Lifesciences, Allergan Foundation, City National Bank, Pacific Life Foundation, Insperity, US Bank, St. Jude Medical Center, SoCalGas and Wells Fargo, among others.
United Way said it’s fielding more requests in particular “for housing, food and utilities.” It’s working with local food banks and the group 211OC on the effort.
