UCI Health named Chad Lefteris chief executive; he had been COO since 2018.
Lefteris succeeds interim CEO Larry Anstine; former CEO Rick Gannotta left in August to join Irvine-based Masimo Corp. as chief healthcare administrative officer.
Prior to UCI Health, Lefteris was vice president of UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, N.C.
UCI Health includes UCI Medical Center and more than a dozen research and care facilities. The medical center is the biggest hospital in OC, with $1.2 billion in net patient revenue.
“This is a pivotal time for healthcare,” Lefteris said in a statement, with intense focus on “the health of our community and the safety and well-being of our physicians, nurses and staff.”
