Newport Beach-based private equity investor Strathspey Crown Holdings LLC said today that it’s partnering with the Arlington Heights, Ill.-based American Society of Plastic Surgeons and its subsidiary, Plastic Surgery Business Solutions Inc.
Strathspey Crown and Plastic Surgery Business said in a release that they will jointly invest in and work on group purchasing and licensing, practice management services and co-marketing and public relations campaigns.
The deal also calls for the medical society to receive an equity stake in Strathspey Crown.
Strathspey Crown was established last year in order to invest in what its chairman, Robert Grant, calls “lifestyle medicine” businesses such as plastic surgery. Grant is a veteran medical device executive who previously served as president of Irvine-based Allergan Inc.’s Allergan Medical unit.
