Pyott Foundation Gives to Easterseals

The David and Molly Pyott Foundation gave a $1.7 million gift to Easterseals Southern California (ESSC).

The donation supports the expansion of ESSC’s adult day services on the site of the nonprofit’s current Santa Ana headquarters at 1570 E. 17th St.

The donation from the Pyotts—Molly is ESSC board chair and husband David, philanthropist and former Allergan chief executive—will be used to pay off the Santa Ana location’s mortgage and renovate the site to create new adult day services location for the organization in Orange County. ESSC also has an adult/senior day services location in Brea.

“With an estimated 376,000 individuals with developmental disabilities living in Southern California, approximately 47,500 in Orange County alone, and another 400 young adults ‘aging out’ of services each year, there is a great and growing demand for services and support,” said David in a written response.

The new ESSC Adult Day Services Center is expected to open mid-year 2019.

Its corporate office location will relocate to 1063 McGaw Ave., Irvine. The nonprofit serves 10,000 people with developmental disabilities throughout Southern California.
