San Clemente-based ICU Medical Inc. appointed Vivek Jain chief executive, effective last week. The device maker makes needleless intravenous connectors and other medical devices.
It started looking for a new chief executive after Dr. George Lopez, its founder, said last fall that he would retire from the chief executive post.
Steve Riggs, who had served as acting chief executive since Lopez’ retirement, is resuming his previous position as vice president of operations.
Jain served as president of the procedural solutions division of San Diego-based medical device maker CareFusion Corp. before joining ICU. His background also includes stints at Dublin, Ohio-based Cardinal Health Inc. and 12 years with J.P. Morgan and its predecessor companies.
