Douglas Ingram, former president of drug maker Allergan Inc., has joined the board of Costa Mesa-based startup Nemus Bioscience Inc. in the newly created role of vice chairman.
Nemus is focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of cannabis-based drugs for treatment of various conditions, including glaucoma.
Ingram served as president of Irvine-based Allergan when it was sold for $72.5 billion to Ireland’s Actavis PLC.
Ingram had served as Allergan’s president since July 2013 and previously was an executive vice president for the company, serving as president of its Europe, Africa and Middle East region.
Nemus’ shares trade on the low-profile over-the-counter exchange and were up 2% to a market value of $50.8 million.
