Ensign Buys Three Texas Nursing Homes

Mission Viejo-based Ensign Group Inc. said today that it has bought three nursing homes in southeast Texas.

Ensign didn’t disclose purchase prices but said it bought the trio with cash.

The new additions are La Villa Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, a 152-bed facility in Victoria, Texas; 129-bed San Marcos Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in San Marcos, Texas and the Courtyard Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, which has 56 beds and is also in Victoria.

Ensign will operate the facilities under its Keystone Care Inc. subsidiary.

The Texas buys bring Ensign’s total assets to 112 healthcare facilities, 90 of which are company owned, seven hospice companies and nine home health businesses in California, Texas and nine other states.
