Ensign Buys Fort Worth Nursing Home

Mission Viejo-based Ensign Group Inc. said today that it has acquired a nursing home in Fort Worth, Texas.

Ensign didn’t disclose the purchase price but said it paid cash for Richland Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Richland Hills has 92 beds and had a 58% occupancy rate at the time the deal was finalized. Ensign said in a release that it broadens the company’s operating base to Fort Worth. It also has existing operations in the greater Dallas area.

Ensign will operate Richland Hills under its Keystone Care Inc. subsidiary.

The Richland Hills buy brings Ensign’s total assets to 108 healthcare facilities, 86 of which are company-owned, four hospice companies and six home health businesses in California, Texas and nine other states.
