The Ensign Group Inc. on Tuesday said it has acquired the recently expanded Orem Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, a 108-bed skilled nursing facility in Orem, Utah.
Mission Viejo-based Ensign didn’t disclose pricing details. Terms of the cash transaction, which became effective Dec. 22, included the facility’s real estate.
An Ensign subsidiary has been operating the facility since May 2008.
“With this fortuitous addition to our real estate portfolio, we now own 75% of the facilities operated under the Ensign banner,” Ensign Chief Executive Christopher Christensen said.
Ensign, whose affiliates hold purchase options on five of their 25 leased facilities, is actively seeking opportunities to acquire other skilled nursing and assisted living operations across the U.S., officials said.
Ensign provides skilled nursing and assisted living services, physical, occupational and speech therapies, home health and hospice services, and other rehabilitative and healthcare services for long-term residents and short-stay rehabilitation patients. Its 101 facilities are located in California, Arizona, Texas, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Nevada, Iowa and Nebraska.
