Children’s Hospital of Orange County named Erick Herrscher director of its Hyundai Cancer Institute last month.
“The Hyundai Cancer Institute is consistently ranked a top pediatric cancer program by U.S. News & World Report. It’s a privilege to join such a renowned team of experts who are dedicated to finding new cures and treatments, and strengthening survivorship,” Herrscher said. He will be “supporting CHOC’s mission to nurture, advance and protect the health and wellbeing of children.”
Herrscher previously oversaw administration and finance for the Meyer Cancer Center at Weill Cornell Medicine in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
Since 2011, Herrscher has served in cancer-focused roles at Weill Cornell Medicine, NYU Langone Medical Center and the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah.
Herrscher received his master’s degrees in business administration and healthcare leadership at Cornell University and Weill Cornell Medicine, respectively.
CHOC’s cancer center is a member of the Pediatric Early Phase-Clinical Trial Network, a Children’s Oncology Group program that provides 21 select centers in the country with access to innovative, alternative treatments.
