BioDot Inc. of Irvine is being acquired for $84 million by Cambridge, Ontario-based ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc.
The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021.
BioDot, founded in 1994, is a maker of ultra low-volume dispensers used to dispense chemicals for a variety of diagnostic tests.
The company more than doubled revenue in 2020 to $36 million and has 94 employees.
“Joining ATS will also allow us to ramp up our R&D efforts and will provide new opportunities for our talented employees,” Tony Lemmo, who will remain in his role as chief executive of BioDot, said in a statement.
